We live as our life is our own.
We take pride in the fact that it is OURS.
We think we have the right to do with it as we wish.
Our life to us includes:
Our bodies...we think we have the right to do with our bodies as we wish.
Our Minds...we think we have the right to think or fill our minds with what we wish.
Our time...we think our time is our time...we can use it as we decide is best.
Our belongings...we think our stuff is our stuff..we can either tell you who gave each item or dollar to us or explain how hard we worked for it. So we have the right to do with it as we please.
The church we visited on Sunday was hosting a blood drive. It was quite a different sermon--if you could call it a sermon at all--but the pastor made some great points.
He spoke of how Christ gave every ounce of blood from His body to purchase our lives.
And to live in response to that sacrifice is to understand that our life is NOT our own.
To live in response to HIS willingness to give all of His blood is to surrender that life daily.
NO longer as we see best but willing to do what He knows is best.
I loved the point and have been pondering upon it all week.
How does that look in my life regarding:
body?
mind?
time?
Stuff?
Lord, release my tight hold on "my" life!

OHHH..good one!!!!!!!!!!!
Great points!
I always love your thought provoking posts. We do owe everything to the one who bought us. I love the scripture in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Says it perfectly. Thank you my friend for starting my day off thinking.
Good one - I so agree with this, but it is so easy to forget!!
